About Me

Sifaw @ HeartlyRecipes

Hi there! I’m Jake Morrison — but my Moroccan friends call me Sifaw, a nickname I proudly carry after meeting an incredible Amazigh cook during my travels in Morocco. What started as a simple trip quickly turned into a life-changing food journey, and it all began in a small kitchen nestled in the Atlas Mountains.

My Story
HeartlyRecipes was born from one unforgettable experience: learning to cook from a friend named Sifaw — a kind soul who taught me that cooking isn’t just about ingredients, but about heart, stories, and sharing joy through food.

Since then, I’ve taken those lessons and blended them with my own kitchen style to create recipes that are warm, welcoming, and inspired by flavors from around the world.

Whether you’re into hearty stews, flavorful spices, or comfort food with a twist, you’ll feel right at home here.

Food Philosophy
At HeartlyRecipes, I believe in simple ingredients, bold flavor, and soulful cooking. I love using fresh, seasonal produce, and creating meals that nourish both body and spirit.

To me, food is about connection — with culture, with loved ones, and with ourselves.

I’m not a trained chef. I’m just a guy who loves to cook, inspired by a friend who changed the way I see food forever.

Cookbooks and Projects
Stay tuned — I’m currently working on my first cookbook, filled with Moroccan-inspired comfort food and stories from my travels. Until then, you can explore all my recipes here, free and full of heart.
